Škrbina (Scherbina)

Škrbina (Scherbina)

The main road divides the village in the upper and lower part, narrow around some fertile dolines. From the silhouette of the village, composed of stone karstic houses, stands out the church of S. Antonio da Padova, in the upper part of the village. Today’s building was built in place of the previous church of the 16th century, and is characterized by the bell tower in Aquileia style. In the lower part of the village you can visit the house of the painter and graphic artist Lojze Spacal, one of the greatest exponents of 20th century Slovenian fine arts.
