Portogruaro

Portogruaro

Portogruaro is located in the centre of the Lison Pramaggiore wine production area and is a small town with a typical Venetian imprint. Its streets are lined with beautiful gothic palaces, some with superb frescoes, numerous arcades, several tower-doors, while the bridges and picturesque mills on the Lemene offer unforgettable views. Piazza della Repubblica, embellished by the elegant façade of the Town Hall with its characteristic battlements, is the beating heart of the city. In addition to this there are many other buildings of historical and architectural interest such as the former Bishop’s Palace, the National Museum of Concord, the Villa Comunale which houses the Paleontological Museum Michele Gortani and Palazzo Marzotto with its frescoes.
