Along the Adriabike cycling route you may take advantage of various intermodal services for bike transport by train, bus or boat in this summer.
Railway services for cyclists are published on the websites of the Slovenian Railways (Take your bike on the train – Slovenian railways (sz.si) and the Italian Railways (Travelling with your bike – Trenitalia).
The Transalpina railway promises to offer better services for cyclists during the summer of 2023. Visitors who wish to make their bike journey more interesting or easier by taking the train can load their bikes in specially added “cycle” carriages on the route between Nova Gorica and Jesenice. As part of the ADRIONCYCLETOUR project (Interreg VI-A IT-SI), the Posoški razvojni center will restore a bus connection between the Soča Valley and the two nearest intermodal hubs on the Italian side of the border, Cividale del Friuli and Tarvisio, in the 2023 summer season. Buses will run on both cross-border lines between 1.7.2023 and 31.8.2023. Timetables are available here.
A free service for passengers and bikers during the 2023 summer season will be launched in Slovene Istria and Carst. The bus transport will be available on Saturdays and Sundays, from 1.7.2023 till 3.9.2023 (ADRIONCYCLETOUR project, Interreg VI-A IT-SI Programme). Maritime transport for passengers and bicycles between four cities of Slovene Istria has been launched in 2023. The transports take place from 27.6.2023 till 3.9.2023, every day, except on Mondays. A maritime passenger service is available from 24.6.2023 connecting Trieste with Piran, Poreč, Roving and Mali Lošinj. It will operate till 3/9/2023. More details: PIEGHEVOLEDEFINITIVO___ (libertylines.it)
