Here you will find the Park Škocjanske jame (Park of the Caves of St. Canziano), one of the biggest attractions in Slovenia. This is one of the three Slovenian UNESCO World Heritage Sites: it is a complex of caves and tunnels covered with stalactites and stalagmites over five kilometres long that was shaped by the underground river Reka (Timavo) which, after a journey underground of over forty kilometres, flows into the Gulf of Trieste near San Giovanni di Duino.
