Along the Emerald Green Road and The road of the Serenissima by train, bus or boat

In the Slovenian part of the Adriabike route and in Friuli Venezia Giulia, cyclists can shorten their journey again this summer by taking a train, bus or boat on which they can load their bike.

Between Slovenian Istria and the Karst, a free shuttle bus with a bicycle trailer runs from 6 July to 1 September 2024, on Saturdays and Sundays, on a circular route: Koper (main bus station) – Kozina – Rodik – Škocjanske jame – Lipica – Divača – Sežana – Štanjel – Sežana – Divača – Škocjanske jame – Rodik – Kozina – Koper (main bus station).

 

Departures are from the main bus station in Koper. The bicycle rack fits a frame size ø 22-80 mm (oval frame 80×100 mm). Seat reservations are not possible in advance.

During the summer season, a hop-on hop-off circular shuttle service between tourist attractions in the area of the Kras-Carso Geopark runs on a trial basis. The service runs every Saturday and Sunday between 1 June and 1 September 2024. Two vans with eight passengers seats run on the circular route. No cyclists can be carried. A maritime line connects the towns of Slovenian Istria. The service runs from Ankaran to Piran, daily except Mondays, from 25 June 2024 to 1 September 2024.

The stops for passengers are the following:
– Ankaran, on the pier Valdoltra
– Koper, outer shore next to the parking lot on Ukmarjev trg
– Izola, on the pier in front of the Marina Hotel
– Piran, port on the pier at the red lighthouse

 

Tickets: Ankaran – Koper: 2,00 €, Ankaran – Izola: 3.00 €, Ankaran – Piran: 5.00 €, Koper – Izola: 3.00 €, Koper – Piran: 4.00 € in Izola – Piran: 3.00 €. Transport of the bike: 1.00 €.

 

It is not possible to reserve a seat in advance. The passengers’ service will be performed also in case of bad weather, unless this would be risky for a safe navigation. The ship is eqipped with 10 bicycle racks.
